WILLIAM JONES

PARTNER

William (“Bill”) Jones is a trial attorney who has spent his legal career representing plaintiffs in first-party insurance litigation, personal injury cases, medical and pharmaceutical products liability cases, commercial, construction, and environmental litigation matters.

Bill’s extensive experience with first-party and bad faith insurance litigation makes him one of the leading first-party insurance plaintiff lawyers in Texas. Bill has litigated and settled over a thousand insurance claims and lawsuits for property owners whose claims were wrongfully handled by their insurance companies.

After Hurricane Harvey, Bill handled and continues to handle numerous claims along the Texas Gulf Coast relating to Hurricane Harvey damage.  He has represented homeowners, small businesses, condominium associations, and large commercial property owners of all types.

Recently, Bill was one of the lead trial lawyers that obtained a historic 2.7milllion+ verdict against Texas Windstorm Insurance Association, for his client’s claim for Hurricane Harvey damage which has been fully denied.  The jury returned a verdict awarding damage to repair the client’s property and awarding additional damages after determining that TWIA intentionally and knowingly mishandled the claim to the client’s detriment.

As part of his work on the Hurricane Ike litigation, Bill participated in the negotiations on behalf of the plaintiffs in the drafting and presentation of the case management and discovery orders in the Hurricane Ike dockets pending in Harris, Galveston and Brazoria Counties. Bill was also directly involved in the $189 million settlement of the Hurricane Ike “Slab” claims against the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association which benefited policyholders whose homes were completely destroyed by Hurricane Ike.
